NORMAL ROUTE

Day 1

Arrival in the City of Mendoza. Private shuttle from airport to Mendoza Hotel. Purchase Permits. Review, rent or buy equipment. Welcome Dinner.

Day 2

Travel from Hotel in Mendoza to Hotel in Penitentes. Lunch in Valle Uspallata (in route to Penitentes) or Penitentes Restaurant. Estimated time: 3 hours

Day 3

Shuttle from Penitentes to the entrance of Aconcagua Provincial Park (Laguna Horcones). Hike to Confluencia Estimated time: 3-4 hours

Day 4

Hike from Confluencia to Plaza Francia, base camp for the South Face of Aconcagua Estimated time: 6-7 hours

Day 5

Hike from Confluencia to Plaza de Mulas Base Camp Estimated time: 7-9 hours

Day 6

Acclimatization and Rest day Plaza de Mulas

Day 7

Load carry and acclimatization from Plaza de Mulas to Plaza Canadá and Nido de Cóndores. Return to Plaza de Mulas. Estimated time: 3-4 hours

Day 8

Acclimatization and Rest day Plaza de Mulas

Day 9

Climb from Plaza de Mulas to Plaza Canadá Estimated time: 3 hours

Day 10

Climb from Plaza Canadá to Nido de Cóndores Estimated time: 3-4 hours

Day 11

Climb from Nido de Cóndores to Berlin Estimated time: 2-3 hours

Day 12

Summit bid of Mt. Aconcagua, Normal Route Estimated time: 8 - 12 hours

• Private shuttle from airport to Mendoza Hotel and vice versa.
• Two (2) nights in Mendoza Hotel / Huentala Hotel **** ( http://www.huentala.com/), double occupancy rooms with breakfast included.
• Welcome and Farewell dinner-lunch in Mendoza (Drinks Include only one Mineral water )
• Help in obtaining the necessary climbing permits.
• Transportation in private vehicles from hotel in Mendoza to Penitentes and back.
• Lunch in Valle Uspallata in route to Penitentes. (Drinks Include only one Mineral water )
• One (1) night lodging in Hotel Penitentes, double occupancy rooms, includes dinner (Drinks Include only one Mineral water) and breakfast.
• Transportation from Penitentes to the Laguna de Horcones trailhead.
• Mules for the transport of equipment from Puente del Inca (Los Puquios) to Plaza de Mulas and back. Limit of 30 Kg. per person. (Back and Forth). We also transport the personal equipment to the camp intermediate Confluencia in the event of being necessary.
• Food and drinks in Confluencia, two (2) nights in total; including Geodesic Domes with real beds, carpeted floors, heating system, hot shower, and a toilet seat bathroom. Our camps also have solar energy system, VHF and BLU communications, and our meals are prepared following strict standards of hygiene and contain high nutritional value. They assure the right amount of carbohydrates and protein, everything the body needs to perform at high altitude, yet easy to digest. We also cater to vegetarians upon request.
• Food, drinks and base camp service in Plaza de Mulas, with a limit of up to five (5) nights. Includes: private mess tent with tables and seats, all necessary dishes (knife pocket, fork, spoon, plate and termal glass), served meals, cook, equipment storage tent for use while group is at the higher camps, electric lights, permanent radio communication, toilet tent.
• Includes High quality four season tents (North Face, Mountain Hard Wear, Ferrino), stoves, cookware and dishes.
• All necessary food for the high camps.
• Bilingual high altitude mountain guide and assistants (depending on the size of the group, Ratio 1:3).
• Porters for tent and group equipment transportation from Base Camp to the High Altitude Camps.
• Medical Kits during expedition.
• Radio for permanent communication between base camp, Mendoza and Puente del Inca to be able to coordinate different logistical issues, reservations and. when necessary, rescues or evacuations.

You are responsible for

• Airfare and airport taxes to and from Mendoza. Bus tickets to and from Mendoza.
• Climbing permits to Aconcagua Park.
• Food and drink not mentioned in Itinerary
• Personal porters.
• Individual gear.
• Extra costs as a result of abandoning of the expedition.
• Medical or traveler’s insurance. Costs as a result of an emergency rescue.
• Personal expenses (drinks, laundry, mail, telephone calls and other items not mentioned above)
• All other services not listed as Included.
