Day 1
Permit purchase. Transfer Mendoza - Horcones. Trekking Horcones - Confluencia.
Approx. time: 3-4 hours
Altitude: 3.300m / 10.827f
Day 2
Trekking Confluencia - Plaza Francia (South Face base camp) - Confluencia. 
Approx. Time: 6-8 hours. 
Altitude: 4.200m / 13.944f
Day 3
Trekking Confluencia - Plaza de Mulas Base Camp.
Approx. time 6-8 hours.
Altitude: 4.250m / 14.108f
Day 4
Resting day in Plaza de Mulas Base Camp.
Or climbing Mt. BONETE (*).
Approx. Time: 6-8 hours.
Altitude: 5.100m / 16.732f
Day 5
Descending Plaza de Mulas - Horcones.
Approx. time: 5-7 hours.
Transfer Horcones - Puente del Inca - Mendoza. End of services.
Note: This itinerary is tentative. There always exists the possibility of changes due to climatic conditions.

(*) In order to climb Mt. Bonete or get until any high camp, you must get the climbing permit for 20 days and not the trekking permit for 7 days. This is an Aconcagua Provincial Park rule.




Services - Trekking PLAZA FRANCIA & PLAZA DE MULAS

Included Services 

  • Assistance on geting the entry permit to Aconcagua Provincial Park.
  • Transfer in a private vehicle from your hotel in Mendoza to Horcones and vice versa.
  • Mules for the load transport from Puente del Inca to Confluencia and to Plaza de Mulas and all the way back from Plaza de Mulas to Puente del Inca. Capacity 15 kg per person in each section. 
  • Two nights in Confluencia camp including meals and drinks served in dining tents with tables and chairs, complete crockery, cook, electric light and toilets.
  • Two nights in Plaza de Mulas Base Camp including meals and drinks served in dining tents with tables and chairs, complete crockery, cook, electric light and toilets. 

  • Quality mountain tents. 
  • Bilingual mountain guide and assistants depending on the amount of passengers. Each guide has his own first aid kit for the altitude, during all the expedition.
  • Permanently radio communication between the base camps with Puente del Inca and Mendoza to coordinate bookings and eventual rescues.

You are responsible for

  • Plane tickets and airport fees or bus tickets to get to Mendoza.
  • Hotel in Mendoza city.
  • Entry permit to Aconcagua provincial Park.
  • Meals and drinks not mentioned in the included services.
  • Personal equipments.
  • Extra expenses for abandoning the expedition, even due to illnes.
  • Expenses for emergency rescue services.
  • Personal expenses (drinks, laundry, mail, telephone calls and other not specified items), and any other services not mentioned as included. 
  • Helth and travel insurance.
