ACONCAGUA MOUNTAIN GUIDES & PORTERS
From the Provincial School of Mountain and Trekking Guides "Coronel Valentin Julian Ugarte" graduate the experts that accompany expeditions to Aconcagua. The guides´services are optional and there is no obligation to hire one in order to ascend the mountain. However, it is advisable to do so, especially in the case of climbers with little experience in altitudes such as that of Aconcagua. Prices vary according to the number of expeditioners and to the way chosen , but, in the case of the regular one, for a group of three to six people, the price goes from US$ 1,500.00 to US$ 2,500.00.
During the last years, a new system has been evolving in the area: the use of carriers . Many expeditions hire this service in order to transport their gear from Base Camp to altitude. The ESTIMATED prices are the following:
From Plaza de Mulas for 20 Kilos: to Plaza Canada US$ 80.00 To Cambio de Pendiente: US$ 110.00 . To Nido de Condores: US$ 130.00 to Berlin: US$ 160.00 and to Plaza Cólera US$ 180.00 From Plaza Argentina for 20 kilos: to Camp 1 US$ 150.00 To Camp 2: US$ 250.00 . To Camp 3: US$ 350.00 Nevertheless, most expeditions do not use this service. It is recommended to make the necessary arrangements directly in Plaza de Mulas, with the carriers themselves. In all cases, we suggest hiring guides and carriers authorised by the Mendoza Government through the Renewable Natural Resources Bureau in order to ensure the professional services at clear prices and labour policies |
